Welcome to the Residents' Association of the Hoge Heren (BVDHH) in Rotterdam! As a Residents' Association, we aim to make our iconic building a vibrant and enjoyable place to live, with activities, initiatives, and most importantly, an engaged community.
The Residents' Association focuses on ensuring that everyone feels at home in De Hoge Heren. So join in, share your ideas, and let's build a close-knit, comfortable, and safe living environment together.
The association is also a Tenants' Association (HBV). As HBV, we regularly consult with Vesteda on matters such as maintenance, safety, utility outages, and so on, in accordance with the Tenants-Landlord Consultation Act. The HBV is a member of the Dutch Tenants' Association (Woonbond).

ABOUT THE RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION
The residents' association De Hoge Heren (also known as the Tenants' Association) – the beating heart of our apartment building – was founded in 2002 and aims to connect residents, encourage interaction, and provide additional information where needed. Whether you've just moved in or have been in our building for years, we strive to create a close-knit and engaged community where everyone feels welcome. Through various activities, meetings, and informative updates, we ensure you stay informed about what's happening and have the opportunity to get to know your neighbors better.
The Residents' Association organizes various activities for members and residents each year. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the association's board to review and approve the annual settlement of service charges calculated by Vesteda (for tenants) before they are processed.

De bewonersvereniging verzorgt jaarlijks voor leden en bewoners diverse activiteiten. Ook is het de taak van het bestuur van de bewonersvereniging om jaarlijks de afrekening van de door Vesteda berekende servicekosten (voor huurders) te controleren en goed te keuren voor afhandeling.
MEMBERSHIP FEE AS PER JANUARY 1, 2025
1-person household: 25,00 euro per year
meer-persoonshuishoudens: 35,00 euro per jaar
HOGE HEREN EVENTS
In a city like Rotterdam, where the skyline seems to grow every day and where the sidewalks sometimes wear out faster than you get to know your neighbors, it can feel like everyone is living on their own island. But especially in such an environment it is important to know each other! By often organizing fun activities, our beautiful apartment building not only becomes a place where you live, but a place where you know your neighbors and it is just a bit more pleasant. The Party Committee of the Residents' Association de Hoge Heren organizes a number of events/activities for young and old every year - if there is sufficient interest - such as:

HOGE HEREN HISTORY
The location Gedempte Zalmhaven on the Maas River has become the key link between the city center and the South due to the arrival of the Erasmus Bridge (designed by architect Ben van Berkel).
In such a strategic location, there was room for an innovative residential concept. Architect Wiel Arets initiated this new vision based on two towers. In 1993, Wiel Arets' team began the design, and by 2001, the development of the Hoge Heren was completed. https://rotterdamwoont.nl/projecten/de-hoge-heren/
Unfortunately, the www.wielaretsarchitects.com/en/media/publications/wiel_arets_de_hoge_heren" booklet about the architecture of De Hoge Heren can no longer be ordered. The booklet itself is available for inspection in the lobby on the 5th floor.
THE BOARD
We would like to introduce ourselves as the board of the De Hoge Heren Residents' Association (also known as the Tenants' Association). We are an enthusiastic, small team committed to effectively representing our building and the interests of our tenants.

Ik ben sinds september 2017 bewoner van de Hoge Heren (toren A). Ik vind het belangrijk dat bewoners zich betrokken voelen en dat er ruimte is om elkaar te ontmoeten en samen dingen te ondernemen. Het versterken van het contact tussen bewoners vind ik erg belangrijk.
Daarom ben ik het aanspreekpunt voor initiatieven en ideeën van bewoners. Heb je een leuk idee, zie je een kans om iets te organiseren of heb je een voorstel om onze woonomgeving nog fijner te maken? Laat het vooral weten! Ik denk graag mee over hoe we ideeën samen tot leven kunnen brengen.

Guus is sinds november 2016 bewoner van de Hoge Heren (toren B). Hij wil zich graag inzetten voor een schone en attractieve woonomgeving daarbij is hem het zwerfvuil, waaronder de talloze sigarettenpeuken, een doorn in het oog. Regelmatig loopt hij rond met een afvalzak en prikker, of met op zijn rug, een peukenzuiger om zijn steentje bij te dragen het Scheepvaartkwartier enigzins ‘schoon’ te krijgen en te houden.
Met een ‘positief kritische’ blik overlegt hij maandelijks met de Huismeester en woont namens de vereniging het Beheeroverleg Scheepsvaartkwartier bij. Guus is ook het Bestuurslid die de jaarlijkse afrekening servicekosten (afkomstig van Vesteda) volledig en diepgaand onder de loep neemt. Zijn onderzoek leidt regelmatig tot correcties op de geïnde servicekosten ten gunste van de huurders.
Mocht u een leuk idee hebben voor alle bewoners, schroom dan niet hem te benaderen.
Tot aan de eerstvolgende ALV (2027) treedt hij voorlopig ook op als waarnemend voorzitter.
RENE VON WEIJHROTHER
– Treasurer –
The Treasurer manages the finances of the Residents Association and ensures that the budget is adhered to and produces the annual financial report (for the General Members' Meeting). The treasurer also ensures that the front door contribution from Vesteda and the contribution from the VVE Hoge Heren are paid annually. Keeping the residents' association financially healthy is also a task of the treasurer so that we can continue to organize or implement the proposed activities as well as improvements.
